Little Round Top not only offers beautiful views of Gettysburg but was an important part of the battle. Most famously known for the downhill bayonet charge by the 20th Maine (and Colonel Chamberlain- who my dog is named after 😉
The statue at top of Col. Patrick O’Rourke is one of my favorites in Gettysburg though; it’s simple but still striking and beautifully done. Just 26, O’Rourke and his men were driving back the Confederates when he climbed a rock to yell his encouragement. He was struck and killed.
